I didn't feel like uninstalling that antivirus product so i searched for an alternative.

It was just a one way removal of the unwanted toolbar and I prefer a program that is not shareware. That's the reason I uninstalled it later. However I understand that a company needs profit in order to make nice software program. Regular clear history programs didn't remove the history saved in the AVG toolbar; to be honest I found a product that removed the AVG toolbar without uninstalling AVG Free.

The only way to remove the history saved in the AVG toolbar was to delete:

> c:
>> Documents and Settings
>>> {Your User Name}
>>>> Application Data
>>>>> AVGTOOLBAR

Delete the file called >> COMBOSEARCH
No clear history programs could delete the history saved by AVG toolbar, without deleting AVG toolbar itself !
